Faces only a mother could love. On day 7, we got a fifth chick hatching out. He's small, and very, very weak. That's probably why he took so long to come out Didn't Marvin the Martian have a pet that looked like this? The fifth chick is now pretty much dead. It still squirms a bit when you poke it, but it can't move beyond that and won't open

They are turning into a literal handful. You can feel incredible heat pouring off of these guys. You can see the forerunners of the crests on the oldest couple. And is that a cheek patch? They're so ugly that they're cute!
